The countdown to the launch of Reedsonline.com, the online
version of legendary ‘yachtsman’s bible’, Reeds Nautical Almanac,
is building momentum with the site all set to go live on the fist
day of the PSP Southampton Boat Show, Friday 12th September 2008.
To celebrate the unveiling of this landmark website, a number of
‘Boat Show’ only promotions will be available to visitors of the
show.
In addition to a host of new features, such as pod-casting and
editorial covering a wide range of topical boating issues and new
product tests, the new online Almanac will include all the renowned
features of the printed version with the added advantage of key
navigational data being updated in real-time. Also, because the
site has been designed with low-band width capabilities, access
will be available at sea as well as in the marina or at home before
setting out making it completely versatile to users.
One user who has already signed up is record breaking
solo-yachtswoman, Dee Caffari MBE. Commenting on the launch of the
online version she says, “Reeds Almanac has been a vital tool for
sailors for many years and this new version of the Almanac can only
make life easier.”
Visitors who subscribe to the Almanac during the Southampton
Boat Show will receive a 25% discount off the annual subscription
fee of £35.00 in addition to a host of other benefits that are
offered to subscribers, such as a loyalty card that will earn them
substantial discounts on a range of chandlery products and other
offers from participating companies.
Demonstrations of the Almanac will be available on the
Reedsonline.com stand and visitors will be able to experiment with
passage planning and pilotage information with a team of Reeds
staff on hand to offer advice on how to get the most out of the
navigational data available. Signing up is easy and the Almanac can
be purchased as part of a combined book/online deal or USB memory
stick from the stand during the show or subscribe online.
