CLIPPER 68

In contrast to Lively Lady which has just come back from
her second circumnavigation following her first some 40 years ago,
Hull & Humber is a modern yacht crewed entirely by
amateurs who have a dream to go racing. Hull & Humber has just
returned from the Clipper 07-08 Round the World Yacht Race where
she finished second overall. It is the second circumnavigation for
the Ed Dubois-designed Clipper 68, one of a fleet of ten identical
yachts sponsored by cities around the world and raced by crews of
non-professional sailors who come from all walks of life and, in
Clipper 07-08, represented 27 nationalities.
Handling these sails and racing the yacht
requires a crew of 17 plus the skipper. An additional two crew can
also be accommodated onboard for media purposes. A team from the
BBC joined the crew of Nova Scotia for the final transatlantic
race, sending back reports from the middle of the ocean for BBC
Spotlight.
The Clipper 07-08 fleet visited 14 ports on
six continents during the 35,000-mile race which lasted ten months.
The Clipper 68 will be on berth 60 from Thursday 18th
