Jolie Brise

Built in 1913, this world famous gaff pilot cutter has won the Fastnet Race three times, including the first race in 1925, and was the last sailing boat to carry Royal Mail.

Maintained and sailed by pupils of Dauntsey's School since 1977, Jolie Brise has competed in six Tall Ships Races – twice being the overall winner of races to the USA and Canada and twice winning the award for the youngest crew in the fleet. Amongst their many other achievements the pupils have also crewed her on adventurous voyages to inside the Arctic Circle and, just recently, on the 2009 Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge.

Stop press…  August 3 2009 … it’s another record breaker …. With Adam at the helm Jolie Brise set a new ship's record speed of 14.1 knots whilst surfing down a wave.

See Jolie Brise at the Show on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 on the marina, berth 521.
