The Green Blue

The Green Blue is the joint environment initiative of the British Marine Federation and Royal Yachting Association. It is a trailblazing programme working with individual boat users, sailing clubs, training centres and marine businesses to raise awareness and encourage environmental improvements with the aim of minimising any impact of recreational boating activities on our coastal and inland waters.

Come and see sailing legends Dee Caffari and Mike Golding as they present prizes to the winners of our photography competition ‘The Good, The Bad and The Funny’  on Friday 11th September on the RYA stand E039. The competition encourages boaters of all ages to capture some unique moments that represent boating and the environment under three categories, The Good, The Bad and The Funny. Full details of how to enter can be found on our website or email info@thegreenblue.org.uk . Closing date for entries is 24th August.

Marine businesses can come and learn all about how to make cost savings whilst improving their environmental performance at our Marine Toolkit workshops. Held in the Holiday Inn on Tuesday 15th September, Dan Reading, Sustainable Facilities Officer for The Green Blue, will take delegates through a series of cases studies and Show them how to get the best out of our online self assessment checklist www.marinetoolkit.co.uk. This workshop is a must for marine facilities managers interested in driving performance and reducing costs.

The Green Blue team will be available throughout the Show and leaflets and information with be freely available on the RYA stand E039. Do come and see us!
