GIpsy Moth

Sir Francis Chichester's iconic
yacht
On display 16th, 17th, 21st and 22nd of September
Then
The historic yacht Gipsy Moth IV, on which Sir
Francis Chichester sailed single-handed around the world in 1966-7,
is now used to allow young people to sail on her. Due to the
generosity of her owners, the boat is to be retained and preserved
as a key part of the country’s national maritime heritage.
Now
Gipsy Moth IV is managed by UKSA, and one of the owner’s key
objectives is to raise awareness of UKSA’s activities. This is
focussed on changing lives through maritime activity, including
working with young people who would not have normally have access
to sailing. For information on UKSA’s other work, please see
