Visit the PSP SOUTHAMPTON BOAT SHOW this September for a
day out on the water to remember! Returning once again to
Southampton’s Mayflower Park from 16-25 September, there is no
better place to get the whole family involved in life beside the
sea.
With an array of exhilarating activities, visitors to this
year’s UK’s leading outdoor boat show can experience exciting new
attractions on the stunning south coast. Many of the attractions
have been designed to provide a taster of activities that could
encourage kids and adults alike to learn more. So why not get down
to the Show to try your hand at one of the following:
TRY A BOAT
The Show’s signature favourite, Try a Boat is back again for 2011
in association with onthewater.co.uk. This attraction allows
visitors to get out on the water and test the boat of their choice;
from RIB’s to powerboats and sailing yachts there is something for
everyone, whether you’re deciding on a boat of your own or just
enjoying the day. For the first time, you can book these thrilling
boat-rides in advance, choosing from three amazing powerboats: the
XS600 RIB, Ribcraft 8M RIB, and Rodman 800 powerboat, but there
will be several others ranging from power and sail boats to book on
the day. Your expert skipper will show you just what these
boats are capable of and give you an experience to remember!
GET AFLOAT
For those kids who want to try their hand at the action, Get Afloat
is an attraction not to be missed. The Rockley Watersports
staff will treat 8 – 16 year olds to a free 90 minute dinghy
sailing lesson at the Versadock pontoon, complete with all
equipment, right at the heart of the Show.
TRY A DIVE
Try-a-Dive gives visitors of all ages the chance to get in the
water and experience the world of scuba diving! Run by
long-established company Andark Diving, Try-a-Dive introduces this
exciting sport to kids and adults alike in a purpose-built tank.
With fully qualified instructors on hand and all the kit supplied,
all you need do is turn up and sign up for free!
GET ACTIVE WITH ACTIVE NATION
The Southampton based charity, Active Nation will be adding
something new and interactive for all Show visitors. With an aim to
get the nation off their sofas and into active hobbies, Active
Nation and the “Active Zone” in the Arena area of the Show, is an
opportunity for visitors to have a go at a range of different
activities to keep fit and healthy. The Climbing Wall allows
visitors of all ages to try climbing in a safe and ideal
environment within the Show on the special rotating climbing wall.
Or head over to The Rolling Pool (provided by Villagio Limited)
which offers miniature boat racing competitions and the opportunity
to try out paddling skills in an inflatable kayak.
Two kids go free with every paying adult and adult tickets can
be purchased in advance of the Show from just £16*. For those in
search of an extra special day out, the Platinum Experience
