Welsh Firemen Dash into the Show

Welsh Firemen Dash into the ShowToday (Wednesday 21 September) saw the arrival of two South Wales firemen at the Show. It was not in a fire engine but in a custom built, 7 metre, ocean going rowing boat.

John Haskell and Jaime Windsor from the South Wales fire and rescue service, otherwise known as Team Atlantic Dash, will attempt to row unsupported, over 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for several charities.

The Atlantic Ocean rowing challenge will start in December this year from La Gomera, Canaries to the island of Barbados and the team hope to arrive in February 2012 after 3 months at sea.
