ABOUT NATIONAL BOAT SHOWS
National Boat Shows' (NBS) portfolio contains two world-class
boat Shows: the 40th PSP Southampton Boat Show in September at
Mayflower Park and the 55th London Boat Show, taking place at ExCeL
in January. A new addition this year, NBS is responsible for the
on-water offering at the forthcoming British International Motor
Show, known as The Marine Experience.
NBS is a subsidiary of the British Marine Federation (BMF), the
trade association for the UK boating industry. Run by the industry,
for the industry, the profits from both Shows are reinvested back
into the UK leisure marine industry through the services and
representation provided by the BMF.
The BMF has over 1500 members, which account for a substantial
amount of the industry's turnover and employ around 30,000 people.
They are drawn from both the seagoing and inland sectors of the
marine industry covering the leisure boat, hire fleet, commercial
workboat and superyacht categories and supporting services.
The Federation offers a range of services to help Members build
their businesses. These services include advice and financial
support on exporting; information on technical, legal, commercial,
statistical and environmental matters; training courses and grants
plus careers and jobs. Additionally, central government is actively
lobbied to ensure that new legislation benefits all interested
parties in the industry.
The BMF is also committed to ensuring growth in participation in
boating and its two boat Shows are provide an ideal opportunity to
Showcase boating.
