The GlideSolo and GlideTide are designed as multi-purpose sliding-seat sculling boats. The agile but stable hulls make them easy to row, great for developing early technique and comfortable boats for learning, leisure rowing, touring, coastal rowing and exploring. Affordable, robust with excellent performance characteristics – and great colours – these boats make sliding seat rowing accessible and fun for all.
The original GlideSolo is ideal for smaller adults and children from about 8 upwards to learn and explore rivers and sheltered coasts. There is also a rapidly growing youth competition circuit in these boats, combining British Rowing’s Omnium Skills with an introduction to World Rowing’s Endurance and Olympic Beach Sprint disciplines.
The new larger GlideTide is a longer, faster, more coastally capable boat, built to full World Rowing FISA Coastal Rowing specifications. In the few short weeks since hitting the market, the GlideTides have been thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, from complete beginners to TeamGB rowers and Olympic Gold Medallists alike, introducing even the most seasoned rowers to the exhilaration of coastal rowing and opening up the health and wellbeing of recreational rowing to all.
Both the GlideSolo and the GlideTide have been designed by Paul Godsafe at Glide Boats and are manufactured and assembled here in the UK. The hull design has sailing pedigree, having been designed in partnership with Paul Handley, designer of the RS Tera, Feva and Quba.
