British Design Leading the Next Generation of Water Crafts- They Can Clean The Ocean Too!

KAYACAT is the next generation of on the water fun. The inflatable craft weighs just 6.8kg and fits into its own 65cm x 40cm x 20cm backpack – hand luggage size!  Based on a catamaran design with duel hulls the KAYACAT is super stable on the water. The KAYACAT Puma comes with everything the user needs to paddle like a kayak and stand up paddle board, at just £850. The KAYACAT Cougar comes with everything the user needs to sail like a mini catamaran/dinghy, paddle like a kayak and SUP at just £1500!

KAYACAT is designed by an ex UK Royal Navy Engineer who invested 4 years of development, prototyping and testing. Now Distributed throughout Europe (regardless of Brexit) by Wiltshire based Action Sports distributor TKC Sales Ltd, The KAYACAT was launched at Dusseldorf Boat Show in 2019 where it received incredible interest.

KAYACAT isn’t just a way to have fun on the water it can also be environmentally conscious through design allowing users to only need one base KAYACAT from which they can choose how they want to enjoy the water by adding the various applications. The Ocean Cleanser app is available for the KAYACAT which allows users to collect items like plastic bottles, crisp packets, etc whilst they enjoy paddling or sailing!

The KAYACAT Puma is easy for solo use requiring no assistance. It can be inflated and assembled in less than 10 minutes right next to the water. It’s light weight in a back pack design eliminates the need for roof racks, trailers and other assistance. Using the supplied mini foot pump, firstly inflate each main hull then each cross strut, pop the aluminium frame pieces together, buckle the seat mesh then strap them down and you’re ready for the water!

KAYACAT is based on kitesurfing materials and technology with independent bladders inside its two main hulls. This specially developed, triple laminate, polyurethane bladder is housed by ripstop Dacron, both of which are known for their UV, fatigue and abrasion resistance. The internal bladder feature also means the pressure required is around 6 PSI which is significantly lower than a traditional inflatable SUP or kayak, meaning inflation time takes less than 7 minutes and requires minimal effort with a simple mini foot pump.

KAYACAT is designed to be modular, each float is universal and can be used with any future application. Simply pick your colour and get paddling. Currently there are two KAYACAT models available. The Puma: paddle wide, paddle narrow and SUP, weighing 6.8kg on the water and delivered as 11kg. The KAYACAT Cougar: Sail, paddle wide, paddle narrow and SUP, weighing 14kg. The Cougar is complete with swinging dagger board, rudder, 3.2 meter telescopic carbon fibre mast, main sheet and cleats! Many more applications are currently in prototype, including a bracket for an electric motor, peddle power, fishing, rowing and many more to come.  Once you have a KAYACAT the upgrade possibilities are endless.
