At TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show, Dream Yacht Charter, the world’s leading charter company, announced the launch of their new Dream Boat Club UK.

With a current fleet of more than 1000 yachts sailing out of 50 bases worldwide, Dream Yacht Charter was founded in 2000 by Loïc Bonnet, with six yachts based in the Seychelles. The company has grown to offer bareboat, luxury crewed and by the cabin charters from destinations including the Caribbean, Bahamas, Australasia, Mediterranean and Asia.

It is the experience accumulated over the last 18 years, and the knowledge of the changing trends in sailing and water-sports, that has led to the development and launch of Dream Boat Club and its first UK base on The Hamble in Hampshire.

Commenting on the launch, Loïc Bonnet Founder of Dream Yacht Charter said, “The UK plays a major role in our development strategy due to their passion for sailing and the sea. Dream Boat Club will operate alongside our already successful Dream Yacht Charter operation, both under the management of UK Director Andy Byham. We are confident that the concept will prove popular with UK based sailors and are investigating further bases to open over the coming year.”

The Dream Boat Club concept was born from a simple desire – to offer the pleasures and benefits of boating, without the constraints and overheads normally associated with boat ownership.

Mooring fees, insurance, operating and maintenance costs all combine to make ownership a costly exercise, and have contributed to an increase in the number of sailors looking to rent boats on a daily basis. For keen sailors who want to be on the water year-round this can still be an expensive and inflexible option and this is where Dream Boat Club membership offers the perfect solution.

Members are guaranteed access to high specification, professionally maintained RIBS and sailing boats, all equipped with the latest technology and available from bases throughout the world. Four customised plans allow members to select the level of access that suits them most. Each plan gives the member a specified number of ‘Turtle’ credits to redeem against time on the water in their choice of RIB or sailing boat, ranging in specification from 115 HP to 250 HP, catamaran or monohull.

Boat time is booked online in advance, where members select their preferred date, duration of time on the water and base to sail from. On arrival at the base, members check in and receive their boat. All maintenance and condition checks are carried out in advance of, and after each outing, ensuring that the fleet is always in top condition. Everything is kept as simple as possible for Dream Yacht Club members, allowing them to spend maximum time on the water with no hassle or stress.

In addition to the benefits provided by each of the core plans, Dream Boat Club UK membership entitles members to a Powerboat L2 course to be taken at its Hamble base.

Andy Byham, UK Director said “With annual membership fees starting from £1995, Dream Boat Club offers a really affordable way to access top of the range craft and enjoy quality time on the water. The Hamble is accessible year round and is the perfect base to explore some of the best boating areas in the South of England with beautiful harbours and picturesque villages to visit.”
