LAND UN-LOCKED: RESIDENTS OF COTON IN THE ELMS, A VILLAGE SITUATED FURTHEST FROM COASTAL WATERS ARE INVITED TO BE GUESTS AT THE BOAT SHOW
As part of this year’s theme of accessibility & inclusivity, residents from Coton in the Elms, which is officially located furthest from coastal waters, are cordially invited to the Southampton International Boat Show, powered by Borrow A Boat, so they can experience life on the water.
At 70 miles in-land, Coton in the Elms, Derbyshire, is officially the furthest UK human settlement from coastal waters. All residents with a DE12 post code are being offered the chance to experience a trip to the sea for themselves as guests of the Boat Show.
Residents of the DE12 postcode area just need to book a ticket online and bring a proof of address to show upon arrival at the event. This offer is valid any day for 1 standard ticket, Monday 16-Thursday 19 September 2019. Up to 2 children aged under 15 can go in with each adult ticket.
As Britain’s biggest festival of boating, it’s expected that more than 100,000 people will join us over the 10 days of the Show and 10,000 of those will take to the water by taking advantage of the numerous free activities, including paddleboarding, dinghy sailing and mini cruises.
