Electric Outboard helps sailing and rowing clubs, activity centres, individual boaters and water-based businesses make the shift away from petrol and diesel engines to reliable electric motors that are cleaner, quieter and cheaper to run with minimal maintenance.
While motor and battery technology now means that there is an electric solution for many boats from small tenders to 40ft yachts and workboats, misconceptions and misinformation prevail in both the leisure and commercial sectors. So to give accurate information and honest opinions to our customers, we test the motors and batteries we sell in real world conditions on a range of different boats tracking and recording performance data.
We’re not into simply selling an off the shelf product – we’re focused on delivering the right solution for each customer every time.
Consultancy is key and we won’t sell a motor or battery without going through a process to ensure our customer buys the right option. We’re focused on ensuring they have the information they need to make the right choice without necessarily being tied in to one particular manufacturer’s ecosystem – it’s all about getting the right electric motor and battery combination to suit their specific needs.
And that’s why we work with a wide variety of partners to give our customers as much choice as possible.
We’re the exclusive UK distributor of both the Italian designed and manufactured Mitek range and Singapore designed and manufactured Momentum range, and also sell motors manufactured by ePropulsion, Haswing, Minn Kota, Remigo, Temo, ThrustMe and Torqeedo.
As we work with a number of boat manufacturers as well including Seastrike, 3D Tender and EZRaft, we can put together entire electric boat packages – whether for use as tenders, family fun boats, or safety and coaching boats for clubs and activity centres.
And, despite our name, we’re not purely focused on outboard motors. We can also help boaters replace diesel inboard engines with a more eco-friendly electric alternative. Many of our partners including Mitek provide outstanding electric inboard motors, sail drives and pod drives. We’re going through the process ourselves, converting our Cornish Crabber 26 to electric power. It’s slow progress as we’ve been kept busier than ever over recent months BUT we’re committed to finishing the work this winter and getting her back out on the Solent next spring!
