Southampton Sea Cadets

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Southampton Sea Cadets is a youth development organisation teaching life skill through experiential waterborne adventure. We are an inclusive youth organisation working with young people from all socioeconomic back rounds offering them memorable and significant opportunities, and skills for life. The Southampton Unit currently works with 65 young people aged 10-18 years old, offering them opportunities, skills and experiences that they wouldn’t have thought possible. Voyages on tall ships, sailing yachts & dinghies, and power boating and learning key life skills like strategy, teamwork, honesty, discipline and integrity, through fun and adventure. Through the sea cadets our young people learn marine engineering, meteorology, DofE, RYA accredited boating qualifications and BTEC qualifications amongst other opportunities. We are pivotal in our community supporting other local organisations with ceremonial guards, remembrance parades and providing the Lord Mayor’s Cadet.
