Fairline Selects Lewmar as Key Supplier for Roofing Systems

Debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival, Fairline’s Squadron 68 featured not one, but two soft room systems by Lewmar®, a Lippert™ company. Following the latest trends in yacht design, the Squadron 68 offers more usable indoor-outdoor spaces with the addition of a soft-top to the flybridge.

The Lewmar RX Soft Roof and Lewmar FPX Aft Awning were selected to complete the design of the hardtop, allowing for flexible shading and ventilation, all at the touch of a button. Fairline, having worked with Lewmar and Trend® Marine on many other product lines, was pleased to find a solution that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The Lewmar FPX Aft Awning allows users to shade and protect their entertaining spaces at the touch of a button. Built with stylish stainless-steel folding arms and fittings, this custom roofing solution is designed to offer a seamless finish to the exterior, with the option of fitting an OEM moulding in place of the standard aluminium valance.

Integrated to the hardtop of the 68 model, the Lewmar RX soft roof stows away for an open, expansive feel. Fully open, fresh ocean breeze and ventilation is amplified to the flybridge area, while when the roof is deployed, users are protected from the glare of the sun.

Lewmar’s stylish roof systems were not the only new product specified on the Squadron 68. It also features the Trend Marine Pantograph Door, the latest in innovative glass solutions from Lippert. The pantograph door is a sleek, lightweight solution to the traditional bulky GRP fittings used in this application. The glass door, with its minimal frame, sits seamlessly within the glass surround, creating a panoramic impression and reducing the visual impact for the owner, reducing bulky mullion posts used in more traditional door mechanisms.
