Tall Ships Youth Trust is the UK’s oldest and largest youth development sail training charity. Since it was founded in 1956, more than 120,000 young people have sailed over two million nautical miles with the organisation.

Tall Ships Youth Trust currently operates with four 72ft Challenger yachts — famous for having raced around the world as part of the Global Challenge races in 2000/2001 and 2004/2005. It also has a 55ft Ketch.

Visitors to this year’s Southampton International Boat Show can find out how exhilarating it is to sail one of these exciting vessels with a Global Challenge sailing experience.

Your experience will include:

  • A safety briefing where you’ll be fitted with a life jacket
  • Helping the crew to ready the Challenger for leaving the jetty
  • Hoisting the sails
  • Steering the vessel
  • Winching
  • Maneuverers along Southampton Water

You can get involved as much as you like with the crewing of the boat, or you can just enjoy a sail and the scenery!
