A British Marine Event
Useful stats and interesting facts
Here are few useful stats and interesting facts about this year’s boat show…
2023 marks the 54
th
edition of the Southampton International Boat Show.
The Southampton International Boat Show is the UK’s biggest UK marine festival and one of Europe’s largest on-water events.
It is home to Europe’s largest purpose-built show marina.
There are some 350 boats in the marina and over 650 craft across the whole show.
There are a total of 632 stands and berths at the show.
The show covers some 70,000+ square meters.
We have 200 new brands at the show – 22 of which are in the marina.
There are 78 World and UK boat and product debuts at the show.
It takes 30 days in total to set up and take down the show with a team of over 200 people.
The first show took place in 1969 and ran for six days with roughly 50 exhibitors, compared to over 600 confirmed for the 2023 show.
The show wrap is 1,350 meters long in 15m sections.
Approximately 40 tonnes of sand have been brought in to create the new Beach Haven & Watersports Lake, brought to you by Haven Knox-Johnston.
The Watersports Lake took three days to fill with water.
