Yacht Havens Group (Stand J150, Ocean Hall) are delighted to announce that Jachthaven Biesbosch is allowed to raise the Blue Flag for the 18th time.
The trend to deal with tourism and recreation in a sustainable way through marinas is still increasing. A number of marinas in the Netherlands decided to do more than the international Blue Flag demands, focusing more on corporate social responsibility within their day-to-day business operations. Jachthaven Biesbosch belongs to this leading group and we are delighted to announce that we received the Green Pennant award again this year.
The Blue Flag is awarded each year by the Stichting Keurmerk Milieu, Veiligheid en Kwaliteit (KMVK) – the Foundation for Environment, Safety and Quality. With the Blue Flag campaign in the Netherlands, the foundation involves governments, entrepreneurs and recreationists in the care for clean and safe water, beautiful nature and a healthy environment and sustainable marinas. For tourists and holidaymakers, the Blue Flag is the international recognition and quality symbol for clean beaches with good water quality and safe and clean marinas.
Helga van Leur presented the awards on 11 May 2023, on the beach of Wassenaarse Slag, including a presentation of Blue Flag recognition for Jachthaven Biesbosch in Drimmelen.
As one of the 9 marinas of the renowned Yacht Havens Group, Jachthaven Biesbosch a full service marina for the modern water sports enthusiast. There’s something for everyone.
The marina lies adjacent to the vast expanse of the Biesbosch National Park; a unique sailing area and Europe’s largest freshwater wetlands covering over 35sq/miles of rivers, lakes and waterways, popular for boaters, family holidays and rare flora and fauna.
