How do you get an incapacitated man in the water back on board when you are the only person left on board?

Duncan Wells will be conducting man overboard retrieval demonstrations in the marina 3 times a day – 1130, 1330, 1530, every day of the show – when a live man will step into the water and will be rescued back on board by another person on board.

The man in the water will not help in his rescue at all. His life jacket will inflate, his MOB Beacon will go off, then  will grab the MOB Lifesaver which will be on his jacket or on the water and attach him to the boat. Then he will be retrieved and brought back on board. Throughout the shows a number of different retrieval systems will be used. Duncan is keep to encourage boaters to develop a plan using what you have aboard the boat and then practise it, practise it, practise it and hope that you never have to use it.
