Boatworld Launches New ST 270 Compact Short-Transom Tender at Southampton Boat Show 2026

A space-saving inflatable tender designed for yacht owners who need more room without sacrificing onboard storage

Boatworld will unveil the new ST 270 at the Southampton International Boat Show 2026, expanding its specialist tender range with a 2.7-metre inflatable designed specifically around the needs of yacht and motorboat owners.

Making its UK show debut at Stand P43 in The Power Hub, the ST 270 takes the space-saving principle of a traditional round-tail dinghy and combines it with a short transom, creating a practical tender that supports conventional outboard power while remaining compact to transport and store.

For many yacht owners, choosing a tender is a compromise between usable space on the water and the room it takes up onboard. The ST 270 has been developed to address that balance.

Its short-transom configuration avoids the bulk of a conventional full-height transom while allowing an outboard of up to 6hp. Wide stern tubes maximise buoyancy and usable internal space, while the high-pressure Air V floor creates a firm platform underfoot and helps with tracking and handling.

At 2.7 metres long, the ST 270 seats up to three adults and one child, with a maximum loaded weight of 390kg, making it suitable for regular ship-to-shore runs.

Designed Around Life Aboard

The ST 270 has been created for boaters who need their tender to work both on the water and onboard the parent vessel.

Its compact, space-saving design makes it particularly relevant to sailing yachts and motorboats where locker, deck, or lazarette space is at a premium. Once inflated, however, the wide stern layout and open interior provide useful room for passengers, bags and everyday boating equipment.

The ST 270 is well suited to:

  • Ship-to-shore tender duties
  • Yacht and motorboat use
  • Harbour and marina journeys
  • Coastal exploring
  • Family boating
  • Boaters working with limited onboard storage

Unlike a fully round-tail tender, the integrated short transom lets owners use a conventional outboard without a removable motor bracket.

A Bigger Addition to the ST Range

The ST 270 becomes the largest model in Boatworld’s ST range, joining the smaller ST 200 and ST 240.

The increased length gives customers more passenger and carrying space while retaining the compact-storage philosophy that defines the range.

“The ST range came from looking at what yacht owners actually need from a tender. Storage space onboard is always valuable, but once you launch the boat you still want enough room for people, bags and everything you need to get ashore comfortably. The ST 270 gives customers that extra usable space while keeping the compact short-transom design that makes the range so practical.”

“We think it is going to be particularly interesting for sailors and motorboat owners at Southampton because it solves a very real problem: how do you get a capable 2.7-metre tender without dedicating a huge amount of onboard space to storing it?”
